As someone who lived in Scotland for 50 years, I can say that the weather in New Zealand is better.
In general it is warmer, and it is very rare to see snow at sea level, in the North Island at least.
It should be self evident that the geographical influences on weather are mostly reversed in comparison to countries in the Northern hemisphere.
In the UK, the further north you go, the colder and wetter the weather becomes.
In New Zealand, it is mostly the opposite.
